Servicemen of Yug Group of Forces 1st Army Corps evacuate first trophy Germany-made Marder infantry fighting vehicle from line of contact Due to the great weight of the German-made vehicle, it stuck in viscous Russian soil failing to achieve its goal. As a result, Ukrainian militants were forces to abandon the vehicle and flee. The evacuation of the combat vehicle was carefully planned and carried out during the night by the formation's troops. Reconnaissance was performed on the terrain, engineers helped to pave a new road, cleared minefields, and ensured a covert approach to the vehicle. The Marder infantry fighting vehicle has a combat weight of around 30 tonnes. Three crew members and up to seven servicemen are accommodated inside. The infantry fighting vehicle is equipped with the 20-mm RH 202 automatic gun with the coaxial 7,62-mm MG3 machine gun installed on the top of the two-seat tower. 🔹 Russian Defence Ministry
